RHD T 6 battery floors

#1 Post by Brett Johnson »

I need color photos of the RHD 356B/C battery floor (with or without battery) showing left side placement -- that is correct, yes? While I'm there, I'll be needing photos of early T 6 cars without external fuel fillers and later cars that have them.

Extra credit if you can identify the UK-registered 356, driver and location in this photo. No, it wasn't staged.

Brett I do not think that that is a UK registered car - LHD and the wrong side of the road !!

I took the photo and was the passenger in the car. It is a UK registered car -- it is LHD -- it is not on the wrong side of the road where the photo was taken.

Here's a better copy of the photo. Magnificent imagery of 356 power and conflict in black and white

The improved image was a great help, now the plate is clear

However, 8A JJ must have been on more than one 356. It was on a RHD T5-B through 1966 to 68

During its RHD period it was in the hands of David Sutherland and later Nigel Carey

German is my country of choice in its LHD guise after 1868 ??

It is late 1970s and keeping with the topic is a T 6 356B and is not in Germany.

Come on guys -- this is not a difficult photo request. You UK guys, maybe ask Barry Curtis for a clue about the photo?

I am very sorry to hear that. Barry witnessed the action in the photo in Denmark in the early 1980s on the way to an International 356 event. The driver of this car was the late Tony Standen. Tony is in the process of talking his way out of a speeding ticket -- and succeeded! Your good friend Barry, regrettably had passed Tony by this time and got the officer that didn't speak English and was kinda glum the rest of the weekend after paying a fairly hefty fine on the spot.

It is my favorite candid 356 moment. Still need photos of various RHD things for my Authenticity update.

The 3 of us had a Beer together, many moons ago at Barry`s regular haunt - A short walk across the green from his house

He was not the guy that fed me my first hit of the drug called `Porsche`
However, he did become my mentor after I bought a 914/6 from him and that led to many happy years and some GREAT times that were never without - A Tale to Tell

I will PM you - Re RHD stuff
