Questions on a 356C
Dear folks, I have some questions on a 356C as follows:
What is the finish on the hood latch on car of a 356C?
Painted? Zinc plated?
What is the finish on the hood latch on hood of a 356C?
Painted? Zinc plated? What is the color on the Fuel sender unit?
Zinc plated? Silver? What is the correct metal worm clamp used on the 356C? Disc brakes: what color is it painted? (where there is no friction) What are the correct screws to be used on the rear insulation at the engine bay?

Re: Questions on a 356C
Freddy: I'll weigh in hoping to jump start the conversation.
Plating: I haven't seen any reference to cad-plating in the parts manuals. My opinion: the latches and fuel sender cover were zinc plated. I would think if galvanized, they would have a different look.
The worm clamp looks like the one used for securing the hose from the cowl drain box on T-6's.
Sound deadening screws. I've used the same ones for the hood seal, 2.9 x 9.5. The washers are different than the chrome ones normally used on door panels, etc. I found nice ones from BelMetric. GHE32602, #32808. "Escutcheon trim washers" they come in black so you just have to paint the screw heads.

Re: Questions on a 356C
I have had 3 C/SC car but I am not as detail oriented as some. That said I agree with Mike on hood latches and fuel sender cover. Zn plated. Metal worm clamp has been discussed and documented by Brad Norma clamp. Rear brake color-grey close to if not same as muffler in my memory. Rear insulation- speed nut washers? NLA

Re: Questions on a 356C
Ah, I screwed up. You were talking about the rear piece of sound deadening. i was thinking the sides and front pieces. The rear was arrached with basically a nail with a flat square head. Then a speed clip held it in place with a large flat washer and the protruding end of the nail cut short.

That is not a worm type clamp.
It is a cotter type clamp.

Re: Questions on a 356C
Brad, assuming NLA and Stoddard are now the same (correct me and apologise if not), I'm not able to find the "Hat clamp" in Stoddard web catalog for order them. Thank you

Maurizio, on the hat clamps, apply to Peter Hofmann for those.
