Where is the transmission nunber located?

For those who obsess about exactly how their 356 left the factory!

Where is the transmission nunber located?

Just need access to the trn nunber where is it located? Do I need to take anything apart?

Located on the bottom of the case toward the front. No need to remove anything but maybe some oil and road dirt.

There will actually be 3 sets of numbers. For a C 741/2c if USA also a build date 12/3 would be December 63 then the actual trans number maybe 5 digits. You can see then on this 64 in the photos: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964- ... c-coupe-5/
