Quick question Trevor, want to double check that it is an M8x20?

Best,

Joris

As I mentioned, there was someone offering them on The Samba but they have been unresponsive.

Specs on the bolt have been determined; Joris will make the bolt.
Related --- in Trevor's photo I note that that washer welded in the floor may be brass -- see photo below. Anybody confirm the washer is brass? Plus, is a split lock washer supposed to be there?

Brad - Yes the washer is brass, here it is cleaned up a little.

Is the split lock washer “suppose” to be there? It is on mine, but we’ll need others to weigh in.

I vaguely recall that the steel weld nut attached to the battery box of my '60 had a threaded brass insert.

Trevor and Jan are right, it is brass. One of the nice details of the new Simonsen/Zims battery floors.

FYI!!!!
For those interested in 14mm x 20mm Battery Ground strap bolts....."I found them online, only to find they actually come from China". I did some searching and purchased some with FREE shipping.

Here's the link...
http://www.robrandinc.com/20mm-brass-me ... -3470.htmlDO NOT USE THIS LINK!!

Here is the correct link
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/M8-M8-1 ... 4c4ddGhOTm

I'm sure they have brass washers too??

Sorry Joris, but I had some spare time and well....

Chris,

http://www.robrandinc.com/20mm-brass-me ... -3470.html I don't see where it says the head of these bolts in 14 a/c flats. -- the reason Joris started a project to make the 14 mm head version. I don't know of a ready-made bolt currently being manufactured anywhere.

Chris,
Do those bolts have a 14mm hex head ?

Brad was faster to respond.

McMaster sells brass 8x20 bolts but 13mm head.
