Correct speaker grills for 1960 T-5 coupe?

#1 Post by Eric Lenius »

Another question regarding factory equipped car with speakers. Which grills would be appropriate for a car with a 7 1960 Kardex date? I understand that this is in the period of the change from racetrack to football shape?

Your car should have the "racetrack" grilles. Becker radios were typically installed with Philips "Trop" speakers, which used the racetrack grilles with flocked mesh. Multiple version of these grilles exist.

The "football" grilles with cloth inserts were from Blaupunkt and were included with the Blaupunkt radio kit.
