Carrera style steering panel access plate modification

#1 Post by Gerald Manna »

Does anyone have a photo or dimensions for modifying a steering box access panel? I have a 61 B T-5 Cab that came with an 80 liter tank as per the Kardex. I cannot get to the steering box with the tank in the car. I know there was a modification plate that was cut into the standard plate for the Carrera cars, but I cannot find it. Appreciate any help Thanks Jerry

Jerry,

Where is the particular plate you are talking about. I will take a look on my car. Not a Carrera, just an 80 liter tanker.....

Some years ago, I sent Adam Wright a picture of the 80 liter tank inspection plate from my 61 T5 Super-90. He may still have it. The one shown above does not look factory to me.

Regards.
