1962 tool kit long slot screwdriver ferrulle

#1 Post by Donald Pirch »

What ferrule does this screwdriver have?
The photo in the Chernoff 356 screwdriver standards is not clear of which ferrule this has - is it the typical JORG long slot ferrule with bulge shape at the end next to the blade, with rivets? What it appears to be in the photo is the same ferrule as the Phillips screwdriver with a crimp ring at the top of the ferrule and rivets below the crimp ring. I faithfully reproduce all 356 wood handle screwdrivers for all years, making handles on my lathe, and need clarification of this 1962 screwdriver ferrule before I assemble it. Thanks for any observations and comments.
