1956 Tool Kit
How did I do? I found most of this stuff in my shop, left over from my father. I made the hammer, etc. Anything bug your eye as WRONG? Fan belt is coming.
I'd rather drive a plastic junker than be a prig.

Re: 1956 Tool Kit
A fine tool kit that I would be happy to have in my car. Looks like a leather tool roll?
No philips screw driver in 1956. Stubby should be slotted. Spark plug wrench is later, should be Hazet 763. No hammer in '56. material of bag should be gray vinyl. No Porsche towel in tool kit. Blonde handle screw driver is from '63?

Re: 1956 Tool Kit
Thanks, Erik. The tool roll was made by the famous QC who is doing my entire interior.—carpets, seats, etc. He has managed the five-fold plaid seat which ever Porsche and Mercedes could not do in production. The plaid is for my one hero: Sir Stirling Moss who I'm afraid is not well. It's to honor the plaid in his 1955 722 Mercedes.

I guess only one photo is allowed? What a terrible site.

Re: 1956 Tool Kit
I guess I was more matching the 1954 kit. I'm choosing what I like best and trying to make the most poetic 356 for the memory of my father. I even stuck a 550 gas filler through the bonnet! Yikes. Looks great though.
Here is the kit I copied, more or less:

Not so. Under the "Upload Attachment" bar below, it says "If you wish to attach one or more files enter the details below." Browse for your photo and after hitting "Add the file", the screen will refresh and you can do it again. And this is an excellent site!Eric Marshall Green wrote:I guess only one photo is allowed? Mark, I guess I'm just dense when it comes to this stuff. I can't seem to work FB either. With a 147 IQ you would think I could do better, eh?

As I was telling the local Mensa group at our meeting the other night, "I was the only one in the third grade who had to shave!"
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

Re: 1956 Tool Kit
I actually cheated on my IQ test because I was nervous it would be too high. Seriously. And even at 147 I was forced to go this weirdo school for really nerdy smart kids. At least my mom drove me to the school bus (15 minutes) in a 356, but the bus ride was an hour. Then back again at about 5, then homework. I had to take both Greek and Latin in the 5th grade. And learn ALL the English kings in order, birth and death date, information which has served me wonderfully over the years.

Jules, why the nastiness? Seems uncalled for. Could you draw this at 18 with a ballpoint pen? Of course. But as Hank McKenn says: God loves a trier.
