Carrera GT Interior

#1 Post by Thomas Laubscher »

Hi

I own a 58 Carrera GT Coupe which has unfortunately no (or not much) original interior left.

Now I'm restoring the car and try to do it as original as possible. For this reason I'm looking for pictures about the interior especially the carpet parts in the back and the vinyl parts like the sill of the car. The interior color is black.

Would be very friendly if I could get some help here.

Does someone know where's the best place to get the right material?

Thanks a lot.

Thomas

Currently is a SC engine in use. Originally it should be a 1500 692/0.

At the moment I'm working on a Carrera 2 engine which I'm going to put in next year, hopefully.

I believe John Willhoit has the perfect Schwarzplast lightweight vinyl that goes in that car. He has a Carrera GT and could probably help you.

Thomas, have you found the correct vinyl for your Carrera GT?
I am also restoring a 61 GT, and also looking for those vinyl too.

My '59 Carrera GT is carpeted in the rear, and has black vinyl replacing the carpet in the front. The Door tops and top trim in the rear are of wood. Standard rubber matts.

I assume the wood door tops are original? Do they weigh less than the vinyl covered steel ones?
