Is this correct for 56 that the bumperbracket goes to the front beam and is welded to on the front beam?
On my 56 it looks also original welded to the frontbeam.
For Pré A it is diffrent and mid 57 is also diffrent....
Does someone haves an unwelded late 55-56?
Confusing.....

Thanks!
Pré A is not welded o the beam and also '57 without the beehives aren't welded to the beam.
The 55 European is welded to and my 56 is also welded to the beam.
So only a early A thing?
Strange.......
Do you have a pic?
Thanks, Pascal

Pascal,
All early T1 have this kind of bracket till the 6 digit series, after that the factory shortened the bracket and added a reinforcement behind the torsion bars box, on the lower corner. The reason for this change is related to energy dissipation so in a front hit the early bracket would most probably damage the torsion bars, so they weakened the front, reinforcing the back.
Hope this helps

You're both correct. If it was manufactured at the end of 1955 (maybe even as early as September or October near the factory changeover) it would have been a '56 model.
