ZF Steering Box

One good turn...,

Just to confirm, it looks like the steering box and it's attached hardware both were painted semi-gloss black? and I see from this older thread the red "inspection/setting" paint was used in a couple spots. Thanks.

Don't forget the lead seal on the end of a thin wire.

Should have lock plates under the mounting nuts, not split lock washers; if you want to be authentic.

Thanks Vic, I appreciate it. My box came with one locking plate but, indeed, I see the PET calls for two (I'll have to order one more :) ) Clearly then the lock washers are wrong. BTW, did you notice the black oxide (high grade) nuts? Could they be correct? When i went to the hardware store, they were out of the zinc ones. So I got these, I kinda like 'em ! Thanks.
