Speedster hardtop

#1 Post by Ned Hamlin »

We just bought a black '58 Speedster at Gooding in Scottsdale, and it came with a Plastic Dynamics hardtop in need of restoration. Is anyone familiar with a source for rubber seals for this hardtop? Also, I'm wondering if there is supposed to be some sort of headliner inside, or was it just painted? It's a pretty cool hardtop with very large side curtains.

I had a Plastis Dynamics hardtop once. I believe it had a foam type material on the inside. The only hardtop with a real headliner was the Glasspar. Check with Russ Rodriguez at Fibersteel. They do Glasspar tops but some of the seals may work.

What's the company in Canada making fiberglass 356 cars? Intermeccanica? That fellow makes all kinds of interesting things, including plastic hardtops, seals, and trim.

The name Henry Reisner jumped into my mind- that could be it.
