Porsche 356bt6/C coupe dashboard with sunroof

#1 Post by Guido Kwikkers »

In my 356 C coupe car I installed a factory original sunroof. I noticed that the dashboard has to be adjusted to have sufficient place for the drains.

I am looking for pictures of the dashboard especially the sections covered in leather close to the drain tubes.

Thanking you in advance,

Guido

Guido, I have a 1958 sunroof coupe that may be able to help you with the areas that you are concerned with. The car is original despite the rather rough looking holes. The removable dash top needs a half circle cut at each end to clear the rubber hose.

Hope this helps,
Jim

Hi Guido
My T-6 Coupe drains thru holes in the area behind the quarter windows, there are slits in the metal.
The 58 Sunroof I had drained thru the tubes in the window pillar.

Guido, John is absolutely correct about the differences between the A and C cars in the rear.Hopefully the sunroof that you installed was a roof clip that included the rear drains or you will have some tricky fabrication to do. As far as I know the dash and dash top are the same in the areas at the ends where you will be routing the drains.

Best of luck!
Jim

I believe it may be a Karmann vs. Reutter difference. My T6-B (Reutter) with factory sunroof per CoA has drains in the front and rear. Not near the car, so no pics. If you want some let me know and I can snap some this weekend.
