I am about to install the rear seats. This part of ther estoration I have not dissambled so i am struggling a bit.
How should the folding rear seat be mounted?

What parts for installation are needed, I doubt I have them so I need to re-order most likely.

Moreover I see (in teh picture) places for other parts to be installed there as well, what should be done there?

Thanks in advance.

The middle or inboard attachments are on the posts in the middle. The outside attachments are with the two large headed chrome screws and wavy washers.

That fat insulation ?? on the demister tube may cause issues with the fitting of the rear and side panels - don't think you need it.

Also tape up /cover the downward facing demister holes- no need for air to go down - it all needs to head to rear glass.

Stephen: I think the car is a C coupe so the insulation, I believe, is correct. As you know, the C models had the plastic vents rather than the defroster tube under the rear window.

Correct! The car is a C coupe from 1964.

I got informed that between the rear seats it should all be covered with isolation material. My interior specialist glued this part directly on to the metal without any isolation.

The vertical parts were covered with isolation.

Can someone check with their own restoration or experience and advice If I am doing it the correct (authentic) way?

The correct thickness of the jute padding on the rear firewall was 1/2 inch when I removed my original. I made a new one form 1/4 inch jute by glueing two layers together. If it is too thick or too thin it will make fitting your rear Garnish rails difficult. The hump between the rear seat bottoms originally had a "hat" if you will, of coconut fibers under the carpet. This coconut fiber was over the black tar paper insulation. I was unable to salvage mine so did a similar covering of dense closed cell foam. You could also make the "hat" from a material like dynamat. A little softer than the original stuff but smoothed out the hump when carpeted. Mike was of course "spot on" with his numbers labeling. Did your T6B have similar coconut fiber on the hump Mike?

Also there is an order in which you must install the carpeting. I don't remember the exact steps look at photos and pay attention to where the binding is and you should be able to figure it out. If I remember correctly my carpet kit from Autos International had numbers on the back. I think volume 2 of Registry Restoration guide has an article .

Excellent carpet article in restoration Guide Volume 2 by Ron Roland. It was originally in Registry Magazine 19-1 here: https://porsche356registry.org/system/m ... 1396814795
