I believe the male portion of the clasp is the discerning feature. Check Eric's website for the differences.

Eric Chernoff. I just Googled both 911 and 356C tool kits and the pics I saw indicate the clasp with the bar across it is for an early 911 possibly also a 912.

If you Google 356 tool kits, you'll find his site.

Check this link that Jim from EASY started. Sure looks like Dan Schaefer's original owner 64 bag. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26438&hilit=tool+kits Same latch on Bill Waite's 65 with bar on latch.

Great link, Doug. Now I'm even more confused! It looks like the clasps on the '64's didn't have the bar but the '65's did but, some '64's did. Maybe late '64's?

Plus several different colors. Bluegreen most common but light tan.brown, black with at least 2 different textures. I loved following that link as I have a C but 2 partial tool kits-neither of which came with my car.

Right you are, Doug. I've even seen an off-white one.

That's a 1968 bag. 110% certain.

Here's a link to the early 911 toolkit reference thread

I agree with Eric. I also believe it's a 911 vs a 912 bag. IMHO, the 912 bag had a brown interior not a gray.
