1958 speedster and rear reflectors
Hoping someone can help...I have a 1958 speedster 84381 and when purchased the car came with two square glass reflectors. Can anyone tell me what year Porsche changed from the glass reflector to the plastic (more common rectangle with curved edge) reflectors. I am trying to determine whether these are correct for my car or if they were just collected over the years by the prior owner... Thanks Michael

Glass Pre-A thru A
Plastic B/C
BTW, they are all oblong, not square.

Any hint toward large script K1315 vs small script K1315?

I Agree with Pascal. T2 had large numbers. My early unrestored T1 has small so I believe they changed some time during T1.

Some late T2 with large numbers had SWF logo marking in the back...

Victor Miles re-did a set for me courtesy of John Paterek. I am still trying to figure out how he took them apart and re-chromed the surround. They are like new, and perfect...

Re: 1958 speedster and rear reflectors
The first reflectors in late 1952 were glass and unmarked. They were eventually marked with K1262 mid-'53 through early '54. Eventually sometime in '54 they switched to the K1315 reflectors. The earlier pre-A glass reflectors have a different stroopwaffel pattern compared to the K1315 ones common during T1 and T2 production. It is horizontal instead of vertical. I've seen all types (unmarked, K1262 and K1315) with the vertical pattern, but only the earliest unmarked and K1262 with the horizontal pattern.
