Original Sigla logo size?
I recently reviewed a post covering how to etch a Sigla logo on a windshield:viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37182#p241120
This was incredibly helpful -- many thanks to all who contributed.
I did have one question: For a Sigla windshield for a 1956 356A, how big was the logo? And how far from the top of the windshield would it have been? I have tried to contact several of the contributors to the said post, but to no avail!
Best regards,
Anand

James,
Many thanks. You are a wealth of information!
Any idea how low below the top of the windshield this logo would be? That's the final piece of information I need!
Best,
Anand

The logo on the original screen from my '60 adds an additional line at the bottom (the "snake" and "D-06"). It is 20mm tall by 22mm wide and the lower left corner of the 5-line logo is exactly 5 cm from the top and 9cm from the side. The photo is rather poor quality

Early T2. The logo on the original shield was in the lower left corner so copied/etched this on the new windshield.

Hi Anand, I do not have any stencils left but could provide you with the artwork so you can have them made?

Hi Anand,
I did not see your email, somehow it did not get through. Here's the artwork. Hope it will be helpful to others as well.
Joris was indeed so kind to give me a stencil last time I needed one. I wanted to have a few extras made so drew the Artwork. I did not get around to having the stencils made though.
These logos changed quite a bit over the years. This one, I believe, is correct for at least T1 and T2's.
Perhaps others can chime in to get the chronology right.
Earliest data point I have is the original windshield on my Mar 53 1500S Coupé.

Re: Original Sigla logo size?
Interesting that the logo and location on Edwin's '53 and my '60 windshields are identical, but the early T2 is different. Is the code ("Sc0" or "5c0") at the top of my screen the manufacture date (May 1960), or something else? My car was assembled 11 July 1960.

Re: Original Sigla logo size?
Can duplications of the Sigla logo etching on original windshields onto later replacement windshields considered to be fraudulent in respect to the originals, and relative to cars with painstakingly efforts taken to preserve their originality?

Wil, interesting question. Too bad I can't answer it.
