I worked for two different Porsche Dealers in the 70's….and remember when we sold a car, we would grab an owners manual and tool kit from a box in the Sales Mgrs office, to go with the car….
I am assuming this was the practice in the 50' - 60's too….NOW, here's the question, I have not seen a 356B owners manual print date before Jan '60. So, since my T-5 was delivered in the fall of 1959, and it does have the "356A" Vin plate by the tank, do you suppose 'they' were also using up all the left over A Manuals and giving them with the early B's ???? Does anyone know if there was a B Manual printed earlier then Jan of 60 ???
Thanks in advance for any help with this….
Greg

Re: Factory Owners Manuel question
Greg, yes, the first B owner's manuals (actually Driver's Manuals) were dated September, 1959.Greg Stout wrote:I have not seen a 356B owners manual print date before Jan '60... Does anyone know if there was a B Manual printed earlier then Jan of 60 ???
I'll try to post photos of two different English versions tomorrow, if someone else hasn't already.

Re: Factory Owners Manuel question
Well, they were easier to get to than I thought, so here are two quick photos.
I'm not sure of the significance of the large "E" on some early covers, because in all other respects the two 9.59 English versions appear to be the same.
Both are marked "W 32 - September 1959 Edition - Printed in Germany - 9.59 Gl." as shown below. You can click on either photo to enlarge them.

WOW !!!!
such a great resource of information, you all are !!!!!
So, Now I know, trying to find the 'correct' one for my really early T-5 is not a wasted effort. God help me finding one, but I'll try.
Thanks Jon….
