Max,

You have the plate installed wrong. The waffle side goes towards the dash.

Joris has it right the waffle or textured side gets painted and also faces the dash when installed. I was wrong in assuming the textured side faced out.

Now with that understood does the clear Becker faceplate from Oldtimer Radio have a waffle pattern on it?

Any opinions as to which of the two would be installed in a factory installation in an 1960 B with a July completion date?

Does anyone know where i can get a faceplate? oldtimerradio does not sell the waffle textured plate anymore, and koenigs-klassik-radios version is not correct.

Thanks,

Ben

Does anyone have an idea of which version of the plate should be installed in a 1960 356B (Kardex date 7/1960) with factory installed Europa? silver?

Thanks!

I see... my attempts to hijack my thread back from a "hijacker" has failed :D

Eric,

I think it was the non-textured Chrome/Silver faceplate...

hopefully, others can confirm this.... (now... please give me back my thread) :)

a '60 car should have the waffle face plate. Silver/chromed most likely but this is a topic for debate

The one on my 59 is clear. Not sure if it’s the original.
