I am looking for a picture of a original tie rod - to see what it looks like.
Especially the clamps are they black or silver plated?
My car is a 1964 Coupe C.
Regards

Re: Original Tie rods
Page 109, Neil's Book, bottom photo, caption "The tie rod assemblies were painted black before installation". The clamp and bolt is black.

Re: Original Tie rods
It seems mostly 'black' means a satin or matt finish ... tried a gloss sealing coat over that and while it looks pretty it somehow doesn't look right (assume the same applies re steering)
.... right (as in agree)? What say ye?

Re: Original Tie rods
They were painted semi-gloss black, as on my original 65 C cab's steering and suspension components.Guido Kwikkers wrote:I am looking for a picture of a original tie rod - to see what it looks like.
