Original Tie rods

#1 Post by Guido Kwikkers »

I am looking for a picture of a original tie rod - to see what it looks like.
Especially the clamps are they black or silver plated?

My car is a 1964 Coupe C.

Page 109, Neil's Book, bottom photo, caption "The tie rod assemblies were painted black before installation". The clamp and bolt is black.

It seems mostly 'black' means a satin or matt finish ... tried a gloss sealing coat over that and while it looks pretty it somehow doesn't look right (assume the same applies re steering)

.... right (as in agree)? What say ye?

They were painted semi-gloss black, as on my original 65 C cab's steering and suspension components.
