hello,
i am looking for fotos from the innerside of the top ( with glass window) of a 1954 cabriolet .
we are curently making a new top bud it appears there is a difference between ( glass and plastic window)

Daryl's top material is not original, thought his headliner is.
From what I know, the Autos Intl top is correct. The window is sewn into the top material, and then the headliner gets blind stitched to the black, inner material of the top material. So the layering from outside to inside is:
1. top material
2. flexible plastic window
3. black inner material
(the above window is sewn between the outer top and inner black material
4. the headliner (blind stitched to the inner black material at the edge of window all the way around)
Ned was kind enough to show me this last year.
I have never seen a completely original top up close, at least from 1954 or 1955, but I suspect the method of construction did not change much (or at all) well into 356A production. I know an original top exists for 1953, with the small, hard plastic window, but I don't know where it currently resides.
