Any ideas on a switch in the 1959 B Coupe dashboard

#1 Post by Helge Tielker »

Hey guys,
I can't remember wether I asked this question earlier or not - searching in this authenticity forum doesn't give a hit.
We have a switch under the dashboard on the left side - I didn't followed the kabels yet, it could have bee from the airco (vent) which vae been in stalled in the car when I bought it +/- 20 years ago. Does anyone has on the same position a switch ... our car is from 12/1959. If not original we will unmount it.

cheers from Holland

Probably not original. It could have been used as a security device for the ignition meaning it must be pushed in while starting the car. Or, it might be a momentary switch for an electric fuel pump primer or an on/off switch for an auxiliary light. You could figure it out by tracing the wires to see where they originate and end.
