Interesting 546 engine on ebay

I have never seen a flip top oil filler like this on a two piece case engine. Was this a factory part?

To add another question, is that a VW crank pulley? It looks like a mixture of parts, I see carb heat holes on the lower air channels, not a 2-pc case part.

Regarding the heater boxes, they look like three piece case parts. Another part I wasn't aware could fit on a two pice case engine.

No doubt this engine has an interesting history!

Porsche started using those oil filler/breathers on the 546/2 engines. Much of the rest of the stuff on the engine looks like it was pulled from a 356A T1, including the shroud and full intake system. And yeah, not a Porsche pulley.

And the engine is a restamp, not an original factory-built engine. The crankcase is from 1956 or later based on the casting details.
