ID Tonneau cover

#1 Post by John Wurner »

Need help to ID Tonneau cover for 356 Porsche. I may have spelled that wrong.
It does NOT fit Speedster, 58 Cab or 60 Cab.
Roadster perhaps?
Distance between fasteners above the engine lid is 35 inches.

You spelled it right, John. But if it doesn't fit a Speedy or a cab, and you're sure it's for a 356, what else could it be but Roadster? Roadster top boots don't look like that one.

Based on the measurements it would not fit my roadster.
Not sure what it for but seems much larger.

I had a cab tonneau that was shrunken quite a bit, off by maybe 2” in width.

This one fits my 60 Cab except for the Tennax points and its not tall enough to fit
a Cabrio top. Its the size of the Speedster cover but the fasteners are in the wrong place.
My best guess, Conv D?

Here is an original Convertible D tonneau. It's a fairly tight fit so I usually let it in the sun for a bit and then install and it tightens up very nicely. I can get some measurements if you need them.

I just now realized we have been discussing top boots, not tonneau covers. Tim just pictured an actual tonneau cover.

Hi Tim
Looks like mine is not for a D either.
It has no fasteners on the back above the engine lid, there is 35 inches of empty space.
Your cover has the fasteners.
