Does the Carpet match the Drapes?

#1 Post by Chip Flor »

I see this time and time again where very well represented cars have the dash pad the same color as the seats and not the same color as the (top) metal door molding.

Can someone once and for all confirm this authenticity rule of thumb for me:
that the dash pad should always be the same color as the (top) metal door molding. or "vise versa".

Any help with this would be well appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thanks Barry,
Great article.
I knew I was not entirely misinformed.

This is an exact replacement of the original interior that came in my '57. I still have the original materials as proof.

Chuck House put it best.....(and due to the many different combinations of interior/exterior color and customer options, there can always be exceptions to the general rule!).
