T-1 mesh air cleaners?

Does anyone know the correct finish for the mesh air cleaners?
Ive seen them silver cad in appearance
I've seen them a dull silver or a dull grey.
I've seen them with no finish kind of a patina from age.

In this photo I can see they chose a muted silver.
Is this correct?

Secondly, is this the same finish for the gas cap?
Inquiring minds.

Dull aluminum in a spray can should give you the look you want. If it is still too shiny you can overpaint it with some dulling spray while the top coat is still wet. This may take some experimentation but you should be able to achieve the proper appearance.
