Hella Fog LIghts hella 128 lens "V" or no "V"?

#1 Post by Scott Allen »

Hello,
I have seen clear glass Hella 128 fog light lenses with the large "V" in the glass
and I have seen them without the "V".

Are both correct for under the bumper lights, say from 1963?
Is the lens without the "V" available for sale anywhere?

Most of the B-T-5/T-6/C factory accessory catalogs show Hella fog lights with the "V".

I believe that the non V type were introduced '66 or '67 when the bulbs were changed to halogen.

Non V type were indeed early 911. I still have a NOS "in the Porsche bag" one from the 67 911S I owned when I was in the UK in the 80s. Part number is 901.631.211.02

I believe Jack is essentially right. The 911 accessory booklets suggest the change to non-V came with the "Iodine" fog lights. The "V" style early 911 foglight shown in the 10/65 accessory booklet had accessory #9293 (644.631.912.03), while the later "non-V" style shown in the 10/67 accessory booklet had accessory #9292 (901.631.201.00). The "V" style was eliminated and didn't show up in the later accessory catalog.
