new/repro 59A U.S. bumpers

#1 Post by john schwamm »

Does anyone know if there is a source for 59A U.S. bumpers? The lower over rider versions are what I need, fornt and rear. Just wondered if there is a repro source for correct ones.
thanks,
John

John, the source that I know that has repro bumpers, and a source that I trust, is NLA. See:

http://www.nlaparts.com/store/bumper-gu ... -2699.html

http://www.nlaparts.com/store/bumper-gu ... -3013.html

Some may consider them over-priced at $429/each. Considering that they are top quality, and the production run probably numbered in the hundreds, not the thousands, I think the price is fair.

I have been told that the originals were bright anodized. These reproductions are chrome plated. The difference between those two finishes is very slight; most people won't notice a difference.

Does anyone repro the actual over-rider bars?

Thanks

Steve,
I need the over riders too, so maybe someone can advise if they are being done.

Guys, try using the vendor list page on this site. Go to the "Resources" menu and select "356 Vendor Links". An effort has been made to list all the known vendors who specialize in providing 356-specific services and parts.

On that page at the lower right you will find a link to Bob Chase's
"Grey Eagle" Reproduction Front and Rear Overrider Bars website at http://www.cc356c.com/id91.htm

If you want perfect overrider bars custom fitted to your bumper, Bob is the man.
