factory carpet colors for 59A car

#1 Post by john schwamm »

What would factory original carpet color choices/options be for a metallic silver/red leatherette interior 59 A sunroof car be?
Were there various carpet color options back then? not listed on COA.
Advise what would be correct color for restoration to original.
Thanks,
John

John, "oatmeal" (mixed tan and white fibers) was the most common factory carpet color in 1959 and could have been used in your car, but red carpeting is another possibility. For a silver/red car, I think any other carpet color is unlikely. Of course the buyer could get just about any carpet color they wanted if they were willing to pay extra.
