knock off wheels on C of A-how rare?

#1 Post by john schwamm »

Any idea of rarity on a 59A sunroof car that has COA showing 'central locking chrome wheels'? Were many cars delivered with the knock off wheels, listed on COA?
Just wondered about the number of cars that actually came from factory listed/equipped that way.
Thanks,
John

John, that is certainly rare (I assume that "central locking" means Rudge type wheels) but no one knows how many 356 cars came from the factory with those type of wheels.

John,

Can I ask what is the body color of this 356? I think Rudge wheels with black body painting are simply stunning!!!

You're very lucky

Best regards

Silver/red, I agree black is really beautiful, but this combo is good too, and original.

Popular combo! My T-5 S90 B was a sunroof with Rudge wheels, silver/red/gray cord inserts, bought in '67 from the original owner who picked it up in Germany...crashed years later by the third owner .... so if anywhere, those parts are on other cars now.
(Sorry Bill, the Kardex is gone with the car and I didn't record chassis numbers back then.)
