Small vs large gas gauge, what years?

#1 Post by John Wurner »

I have a smaller gas gauge made by VDO, the date is hard to read, but may be 56.
3 1/4" across the front, see picture for comparison.
Were these used on models of the mid-50's?

John,

Most gauges are date stamped on the back.

John - I'm pretty sure that's for a 912. I don't think one like that was used in any 356.

It is a fuel gauge from a 66/67 912 or 911 (without a oil level gauge.) I'll make you a screamin' deal if you want a couple dozen more just like them.

Thanks, Jim.
The stamp on the back is noy legible, but the 6 shows, so its most likely a 66.
The 56 Speedo it came with has the numbers stamped in to the metal.
