Sunroof "Button"

#1 Post by Helmuth Ruther »

Hello everyone!,
I would like to ask for help trying to locate a "button" cover and the receptacle piece tha would originally cover the acces to the mechanism of the electric sunroof... From what I have been able to research; this piece would "pop out" in order to gain access to the mechanism in order to close it manually (with a T wrench..., which I can not find anywhere...!)...
Any help will be greatly appreciated...

A version of the emergency wrench is made by John Copello, who advertises on the forum.

A's for the "button", I know of two versions. One with "Golde" and one without. If it
is the "button" that goes over the emergency handle hole.

Thank you Roy...., I'll contact John about the emergency handle..., not to push it, but where would you suggest I start looking for the button and cap parts?

Helmuth, I think those parts you are looking for are pretty rare. You could start by posting a "want to buy" ad in the Classifieds area on this website (see the link at the top of the page). You could also post on thesamba.com.

Roy is suggesting a modern reproduction as a replacement for the original sunroof handle. Original handles are probably very scarce.

Please understand that the 356Talk rules do not allow "wanted" or "for sale" type posts on 356Talk. Those type of posts are only allowed in the Classifieds. But I understand that those who are looking for rare parts and do not know exactly which style of part to look for may need to post on 356Talk asking for advice, and that's okay.

Good luck,

Barry,

Got it..., As you mentioned; since these are really rare parts I am looking for kind of "guidance" about availability (if any). Or if I have to resort to have the pieces made (last resort, of course!).
If there are any kind of detailed pictures they would be of great help!..., I'll place a WTB add on the classifieds and will keep my fingers crossed!

Tks and rgds

I think you are looking for this little rubber cap. About $6.

Sorry, the two pieces that I HAD are now sold. I'll look for more around the world and post if I find any more.
