1959 356A Cab Seat Hinges
Can anyone help me positively identify the type of seat hinges that belong with my 59 A Cab? The car is under restoration and came with the wrong seats. I want the proper hinges, but if you look at Neil's Book and the A Workshop Manual, it appears the lift knobs face forward, and instead of a straight, flat neck, there is some type of indentation in the hinge covers. I also don't know which year A's had the same hinges as I go to find a set.

Post a picture of the front and back of your hinges and I can positively identify them for you. You can also look in the technical section of The Registry web site for pictures of the various seat hinges. Your seat hinges should be date stamped on the inside, as well.
Regards

58 and 59 seat hinges look identical. They are different on the inside, though.

Thanks guys. The hinges that came with the seats in my car are much later, so I know the hinges are wrong and I'm going to need to find some others.
Roy, I assume you know for sure those are original to your 59.

In the photo from ROY ALAN MAWBEY, the side screws are slotted. Is the correct? or should be phillips ?

Lee, I suggest you take a look at this article "Seat Back Hinge Types" by Jim B., with lots of photos he took, it will tell you what type of hinges your cab came with.
Here is the relevant photo from the article. Click to enlarge.

The seats on my 59 T2 are original to the car. I did replace the one panel on which you sit because the stiching split but the rest of the coverings and all the mechanicals are 59.
( Also the screws are original never been changed to phillips )
