I am about to purchase a 1965 356 C and need to inspect its matching numbers. Can anyone help me determine where in the car are the factory numbers for the chasis, engine, body and transmission? And how do I determine this is a matching numbers car?
After I do this, how can I get a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche and the 356 Registry?
Thanks!

Hello "eltome",
These 3 articles should answer your questions:
Chassis Number Locations
http://porsche356registry.org/resources ... tions.html
Engine and Trans Number Locations
http://porsche356registry.org/resources ... tions.html
Porsche Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and Kardex
http://porsche356registry.org/resources ... ardex.html
The only way to determine if a 356 is "matching numbers" is to get the COA for the car, or travel to Stuttgart and persuade Porsche to let you examine the production records.
The above articles, and many more, can be accessed from this page:

What is your name?
Good luck,

Hi Barry, the page "Chassis Number Locations" does not display photos, is this a web issue? or is it maybe my computer?
I looked at your car and your family history around it, what a great story.
Thanks,
Enrique
