Ponto Stabil originality

#1 Post by Scott Schneider »

Listers,

Can anyone tell me how to determine if a Ponto Stabil mirror is original? I have about half a dozen of these mirrors and I am not sure how to definitively determine which of these are original they all seem to have very small differences. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Talbot produced a mirror similar to the Ponto-Stabil, with a curved arm and no fixing screw for the head, that was used during the T-5 era. The head is stamped Talbot-Berlin on the back. These are original, but were still available as replacements into the 1970s.
