Luggage Rack Bolt Finish

#1 Post by Keith Mattioli »

When I got my car it came with a bunch of spare parts including a Lietz luggage rack and four mounting bolts. The bolts are the correct size and are marked so I tend to believe these are the original mounting bolts.

Though worn now, they appear to have been clear cad plated originally. Does this sound right? Were luggage rack bolts originally cad plated instead of chrome?

Keith

They were cad plated as you suspected.

My 65C has cad plated bolts, not chrome.

The rack I bought with my '65 SC had cad-plated mounting bolts.

Thanks for the responses. They're off to the cad plater.
