Re: 356 chassis
10000 does not appear in the 356 chassis numbers.

Re: 356 chassis
Hello Goffredo,
When you write "the chassis Porsche 356 number 10.000" do you mean the ten thousandth 356 produced by Porsche?
I suspect you that when you write "10.000", Americans would write "10,000" (the number ten thousand).
If that is what you mean, I'm not sure that anyone knows which chassis number was the ten thousandth off the assembly line.
Why is that information important to know? Curiousity?
Best regards,

Re: 356 chassis
I've been curious about that as well - according to the books the 10,000 Porsche was built sometime during the 1956 model year. I've owned two 1956 Porsches and always wondered where they fell in relation to the actual 10,000th car - just idle curiosity.
My Carrera is #56083 and my sunroof coupe was #56724.

Always wondered whether this pictures was to celebrate the 10,000th car produced, or the 70,000th car............

Hi, this photo is, I take it, photographed in the Porsche factory in Germany and this would indicate the number is 10.000, as a seven would have a dash halfway through the vertical line, whereas "German" 1s have a little upstroke, making them look like our 7s.

Re: 356 chassis
...simple curiosity, I have a 356 built in March 1956, same color of 10,000 Porsche built, I'd love to know that my Porsche is part of the lot of construction of 10,000 Porsche

Simple answer to your question is another question. Does your COA indicate fog lights and an antenna? Those two items would make your can a definite candidate. KTF

I'd like to see an enlargement of the emblem on the nose. Not the traditional "PORSCHE" .

Re: 356 chassis
A variation of that picture is in the Conradt book, in color, presumably taken at the same time. Lots of great pictures and info in that book.
The caption reads: "March 16th, 1956; at Porsche, it's time for another celebration. The occasion is the ten thousandth 356, a blue Coupe........ (etc.)"
BTW- The gold 'Porsche' emblem on the nose looks to me very typical, 'traditional,' normal, etc. Love those body fogs.....

Hello Goffredo,
You have done a most magnificent job on restoring my old car. I am sorry to tell you that I have not been able to find any old pictures of the Porsche.
I bought the car in 1978 from and gentleman in Redwood City, California. The car looked the same as when you bought it. I did not make any changes to it after I bought it, but I believe Steve Swift might of made some repairs to it.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures,
John Holquin

Rainer,
Didn't see your request back in November about an enlargement of the picture. Here is one, however it's pretty fuzzy................
