Request for Front PORSCHE SCRIPT placement location
I need help on defining the vertical location of PORSCHE Script on front end of my 356A coupe. Can anyone provide me with the distance in mm from the lower lip of the trunk to the bottom of the script? I seem to think it is somewhere between 38mm and 44mm, but I would like to narrow that down more carefully. Thanks so much for your kind assistance. Gary

Hello Gents,
Do these measurements apply to early T5s as well?
Thanks.

Re: Request for Front PORSCHE SCRIPT placement location
Jay,
I have never seen a T5 that had the script piece on the front. Is it possible the very earliest T5s from 1959 had this ?

Yes, the earliest T-5s had the script. Those built in 1959, with the single front mount transmission. I can't tell you exactly when they dropped the script.

Re: Request for Front PORSCHE SCRIPT placement location
Out of curiosity, when was the PORSCHE script used on the front? In Neil's Book his A coupe (Apr 1958) has it. Mine is later in 1958 and doesn't have it and I believe never did.

Highly unlikely that an A would not have one

Re: Request for Front PORSCHE SCRIPT placement location
Since we're on the topic of script placements. I'd like to find out if the measurements of scripts on the rear were similar for coupes and cabriolets? (specicially for T2s and T5s)
Thank you.
Jay

The nose on my 58A has never been replaced and there are no holes where the script would have been placed. I might add one. Is the front and rear script the same?
thanx

Naw, leave it off. Then my script-less '59 will have company.Doug Nobbs wrote:The nose on my 58A has never been replaced and there are no holes where the script would have been placed. I might add one.
