New Reutter badge

#1 Post by Vincent Gillespie »

Hello, I have just got my present of a new Reutter badge from Erlkonig Classic of Germany and thought you might like to see it. It comes beautifully packaged complete with rivets and the company is a delight to deal with. I also bought one of their reproduction key pouches, as a pressie for my wife, which is also beautifully made.

Looks lovely Vincent. Is that an original badge on the left in your photos for comparison?

Dear Vincent,

Although not a native English speaker, I dare correct your writing.
I guess you meant:
"I also bought one of their reproduction key pouches, as a pressie for my wife, who is also beautifully made."
:D :D :D

Sorry, I couldn't help.

Cheers
Pascal

Damn Pascal, I thought I was a smooth operator,....your whit is priceless. Mind if I steal your line?
We all need to thank our better halves, on a regular basis, for putting up with our addiction. But I guess we all could have worse habits right eh? haha.

Pascal that's just brilliant, I'll be stealing it as well.

As for the badge on the left it came off the Pre A '55 and judging by the metal it was attached to and the layers of overspray I believe it is the original.

PS
I must add that my better half was the instigator, negotiator and purchaser of this little beauty all those years ago when I thought it was just a mess. As I was walking away she said 'hang on what does it matter how many holes it's got, it's complete and when was the last time you saw one for sale!', so she did the deal.

Well, I never tire of telling the story of buying my '53 cab and '58 cab barn finds two years ago. As we're driving away from the PO's ranch Tammy asked "...you didn't really buy those cars did you...?"
I rewarded her instinct and confidence last September with her own "barn find".
