Coil testing
How do you test a coil that is not installed on the engine?

Steve,
To test the coil is easy.
Connect +6v to the #15 terminal.
Push in a high voltge wire into the top/bottom of the coil.
Position this about an 1/8 inch away from a ground / minus on the testing battery.
From terminal #1 of the coil touch to the minus/ground of the battery.
When you lift this wire (#1) a spark will jump from the high tension wire to ground.
You can increase the distance to more than an 1/8 inch, but start there.
