The body looks great , wearing its age well!
Probably better looking than a pristine respray!

IIRC, one, or possibly two such cars were on ebay. The GE background sounds familiar. I dug up this email dated 8/31/02 from my old 356 Talk emails, referring to an eBay auction:

"1952 Porsche 356 GE Proto Type Electric Car
Vehicle Description
1952 Porsche 356 GE Proto Type Electric Car
Year: 1952
Model: 356 2 Dr. coupe
Engine: 1500 Serial #20-1080-660
Body: Serial #50058
Color: Original silver outside red interior
Mileage: 59,448 "

The serial number is the same as the one in the photo.
