I think it is much easier to set at the contact of the ring gear to theI'm trying to set my transaxle back lash at the pinion rather than at the ring. My best measurement of the pinion pitch radius is .72 inches. Coulld anyone verify this number or correct me?

pinion. That is usually .15 mm, the number is written on the side of the
ring gear. If you are trying to set the backlash by miving the pinion in
or out that is not the correct method and you might end up with a poor
contact patch on the gear faces.
