question about stork oil temp gauge

Hi

I just acquired a pre-A coupe missing some gauges, bits and pieces. One of them is the oil temp gauge.
Now it just happens I have a wrong gauge in my BT5 that looks like a stork oil temp gauge with a dipstick...

Can someone determine whether this is a genuine stork oil temp gauge or aftermarket/repro? I would be oh so lucky to be able to use it on the pre-A...

It looks like a nice repro and would work well on a pre-A originally equipped with a two piece case engine.

Many thanks, it is working and I have a pre-A with two piece case engine. So I guess that is one item less on the list of items to look for.
I have the original clock for the BT5 but that needs some restauration.

The dual-scale oil temp gauges were introduced in May 1952 according to the Supplement No 1 to Porsche Catalog of Replacement Parts published in March 1953. The dual-scale gauges were supplied by both the Stork and the Moto Meter companies.

Correct, both Stork and MotoMeter gauges were used through pre-A production.

During the first twelve months of pre-A Speedster production Störk seemed to be the predominant OE temp gauge supplier. The MotoMeter gauge seemed more common in the last 300 or so Speedsters built at the end of 1955. At that time the 356 Speedster was the only Porsche body style still using a thermo-mechanical oil temperature gauge. The 356A Coupe and Cabriolet had VDO electric temperature gauges."
