Okay, guys, what is the lowest ceiling height that can accommodate a lift with a car? Some of your pictures make it look like the ceilings are not really that high. I don't have a lot of clearance so am wondering what can be done.

Thanks.

Mark,
I'm asked the same question about my lift often. The ceiling height you need is the height of both cars plus about 6" for the thickness of the lower ramps. The posts are usually 6 or 7 feet high so naturally you need at least that much.

In my picture, the lift is as high as it will go with about 4 inches left above the 356. The ceiling at that point is about 11 feet 4 inches from the floor. You can see the clearance of the El Camino and the 36 Ford will fit under also but a Honda Ridgeline will not. I use a small cart to drop the motor onto, raise the lift and roll the cart with engine out from under. Hope some of this info helps. Jim
