home garage 4 post car lift system

#1 Post by Rod R Youssefi »

I was wondering if any members had a recommendation on a good 4 post home garage car lift system. I am trying to fit more cars in the garage than I can currently accommodate.

I found the best deals and slection from http://bestbuyautoequipment.com. I have the Nationwide PPHS. It is an 8k lift and nicely sized for all porsche air cooled cars. I even put my GMC 1500 on it for a transmision filter/fluid change. Right now it stores an 911SC and a 912. No need to bolt it down and can be moved with wheel accessories.

I use a Greg Smith 4 post. I can move it with the casters with a car on it. Well made and after 10 years it's been trouble free.

I ordered mine through my local NAPA, so I didn't have to pay shipping, just picked up in the store.

I have two now, made by Champion, and subsidiary of SNAP-ON. $2995 if I remember correctly.

We have three Direct lift ProPark 8s in our garage. They have been great! 110V and don't require a compressor for the lock release...

Bendpak works great but is a little pricey but even with a lift it can still be a little crowded.

I have a 4 post and 2 post Bendpak, I highly recommend them - customer service, if needed, is outstanding.

Gregg Smith. Spring a little extra for the sliding jack system to be able to pull tires.

I like my Back Yard buddy lift. Expensive but very well constructed in Warren Ohio.

question:
For engine removal, better 2 post or 4? on 4 seems that one would need to back the car out close to the edge or is there enough space between the tire platforms?
Bt5 Super - used to be fjord green, was painted brass, then brown... sadness

I bought one from National Auto Tools years ago out of Dallas. After calling around to a lot of lift "companies" I found some of them to just be brokers/agents having the units drop shipped out of somewhere else until I found National Auto Tools who not only had/shipped the lifts out of their facility in Texas but had spare parts available as well which makes them very competitive on price, they are $2425 delivered but if I remember correctly you may be able to get them to knock $100 or so off depending on how close you are to Texas.

They have 2 versions of the NSS8 lift a regular length one and a slightly shorter one.
