Is this a repro 356/356A door handle?

This came with a bunch of NOS parts, but it has no number on the notch. It does have a number 857 on the inside of the handle.
Am I correct that this is a repro?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Peter

The label gives me the idea that it’s a repro sold by Porsche, so it’s OE. Sort of.

The label says 2016 if it belongs with the (British) handle

I'm trying to get a handle on this but not sure. Likely OEM for the original.

I'm reminded of a crankshaft I once saw in a box labeled "made in Germany"-turns out the box was made in Germany, the crank in China!

Probably reproduction. The originals did not have 857 embossed on the inside. Is it magnetic?

The 4-digit lock number code was stamped on the lock cylinder, not the handle.

The handle (laying on the bag in the photo) is the current reproduction of an early square handle. However, the Porsche label on the bag is for the "original" late round handle. Not sure who's trying to fool who!

The "round" handle is currently sold by Porsche Classic under part number 644-531-061-11, see https://www.stoddard.com/64453106111.html.html
The "square" handle is http://www.nlaparts.com/store/square-ou ... -1397.html

Thanks Brad, that could make sense. Someone must have mixed up bags. I called Porsche today and apparently Porsche Classic did at some time deliver a square handle with OEM PCG53106100 part number, although they don't have any in stock at the moment. I wonder if that part had a number stamped on the notch or not?

AFAIK Porsche Classic has never supplied that square handle. Their part number, PCG 531 061 00, did exist which is the part number for the later part, not for the earlier square handle. I suggest your local Porsche dealer doesn't know one handle from another. You can get it only from one aftermarket source in the US. It's a very good repro and good value. It' sold under the number NLA 52 020 .

Strangely some suppliers list the PCG number as a 356A handle, but none of them show images. Pelican Parts mentions it supersedes 644 53106100. And some suppliers list that PCG part number as the rubber base for the handle.
