Hey you guys with the Speedster book.......was there ever a Speedster painted this color?....year?

Yes, Speedster 80005, presently owned by Dave Jenkins, Colorado Springs, restored by Harvey and Linda Smith in 1988.

I helped Harv and Linda restore that car and I remember him showing me some overspray which indicated that it was the original color. They took it to the Parade Concours where they always did very well. They were 356 Porsche enthusiasts to the core, and though long gone now, I'm glad to see they are not forgotten.

Jim Stephenson from the Appleton WI area has a beautiful one, seen here at the 2011 Elkhart Lake Concours. It is a stunning color.

Terrakotta was a 1954-55 color mostly used on cabriolets. Here's a period photo.

I suppose it was #80005 the only Terracotta Speedster made...

The A coupe in the photos above is Orange not Terracotta.
That was the original color of my '59 coupe.

How does 356 terracotta and orange compare to 911 blood orange?
Is 911 blood orange same color as 911 tangerine?
This color thing is extremely confusing, at least to me.

If I recall correctly there was one at the 2011 Savannah Parade. Had Colorado plates. I have foto's, but will need to find them
