Re: Average age of a 356 owner
I had a 356 Normal in a VW convertible with Porsche brakes in 1963. I purchased a rough Speedster for SCCA racing in 1963 and have owned a plethora of 356 vehicles ( and a 550) since then except for a year between June 1966 and June of 1967. My year away encompassed completing a Masters degree, obtaining a wife and moving to Texas to pursue a Doctorate. Last month September 2019 marks 40 years we have been in business in this location and next year will mark the 50th anniversary Ed Mayo and I started fixing Porsche automobiles in my back yard. al zim

New owner here! Just about to turn 31. I grew up in the silver sea going with my grandparents to Holidays and clinics in the car.
Now I get to drag my wife into it

Adam, I was two months shy of 65 when I bought the project "C" in July, 2010. Three or four years later, I drove my first Porsche (when I got it on the road). It now has a happy 14,000+ miles on the odo.

61 here. I've been in and around my Roadster since age 2 when my dad bought it new. I've been driving it for 45 years and have officially owned it for 20. Picked up my '64 Coupe 15 years ago.

Re: Average age of a 356 owner
I'm 82 and still work on old Porsches, have 3 356's and 3 longhood 911's.
I'm probably older than everyone except Al Zim; first met Al at a Warbonnet Tech session in Oklahoma, I think in 1974. Anyway, it was the one where Peter Gregg spoke. And the one where I first learned about, and joined, the 356 Registery (even thought the Registry says I joined in 2014??).

Re: Average age of a 356 owner
I bought my 356 at age 32. Now 39 years later I still feel like I’m 32 again when I drive it. Perhaps that’s why we have a passion for our 356’s. Age is just a number.

Re: Average age of a 356 owner
I bought my first 356 at age 23, and now have five at age 67. They are my favorite Porsches and I will never be without one. We baby boomers grew up in the era of relatively inexpensive sports cars so will always remember them fondly. They always needed hands on back then which would really connect the owner to the car, unlike today's sterile sealed up do nothing wrong expensive sports cars.
