What keeps the chrome along the top of vent window in place?

Is it glued from the factory?

I put a small bead of black RTV Silicone. When I took them apart I found, what remained, of some unidentifiable sealant.

I believe originally it was pressed on over a layer of sort of rubberized cloth. Rtv is fine too.

I set windows into the frame with glass setting tape. It's not adhesive but provides a friction fit and the soft rubber will eventually adhere to the glass and frame if all other residue has been cleaned off.

I've seen contact cement used but not sure if that was factory. I use a thin layer of body putty so everything can be positioned correctly. Congrats on using the fiber washer on the hinge. It's often missing.
